Grants/Finance Coordinator

Primary Responsibilities

Grant Financial Oversight

  • Administer and reconcile project budgets across a range of funding sources (federal, state, municipal, and private).
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely reimbursement requests and financial reports for funders.
  • Maintain comprehensive, auditable financial records for each grant, including in-kind and match contributions.
  • Track expenditures and coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment with scopes of work and timelines.

Compliance and Procurement

  • Ensure compliance with procurement and financial regulations, including 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance) and specific requirements of grantors.
  • Develop bid documents & execute compliant procurement for acquiring goods and services.
  • Oversee contracts and vendor acquisition for grant-funded activities.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of procurement activities and contractor performance.

Grant Administration and Reporting

  • Coordinate internal timelines to ensure timely submission of narrative and financial progress reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of new grant and contract proposals, including budget development and review.
  • Monitor and document deliverables, timelines, and cash and in-kind match contributions, and outreach requirements to support successful project execution.
  • Be responsible for the timely development and submittal of reporting and any other grant administration activities associated with 10 CPRG grants recently awarded to the WCRC
  • Preparation of project progress and accomplishment reports for other grants

Other Responsibilities

  • Support general fiscal operations, including invoice coding, expense tracking, and reconciliation.
  • Represent WCRC at public meetings or community events as needed.
  • Provide assistance to executive staff on internal policy development
  • Assist with employee hiring including advertisement development, dissemination, scheduling interview, and offer letter preparation
  • Prepare and distribute meeting notifications, scheduling meetings, agenda development, prepare meeting minutes, and meeting follow-up.
  • Perform other duties aligned with WCRC’s programmatic and operational goals.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, accounting, natural resources management, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in grant administration, nonprofit finance, program management, procurement, or related roles.
  • Familiarity with federal grant regulations, especially 2 CFR Part 200.
  • Experience managing grant budgets, preparing reimbursement requests, and submitting financial reports.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel & Word, and project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project or MS Teams, Trello, AirTable, Asana, EnABLE).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public or business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Over five years of progressively responsible experience in grant administration, program management, nonprofit finance, procurement, or related roles.
  • Experience with funding from federal agencies such as EPA or USDA NRCS.
  • Knowledge of municipal and private grant compliance requirements.
  • Experience with procurement documentation, bidding processes, and contractor oversight.
  • Familiarity with audit preparation and nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Enthusiasm for environmental conservation and ecological restoration.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $64,000 – $82,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This range reflects the complexity of duties, financial responsibilities, and cost of living in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Watershed Outreach Coordinator

The Watershed Outreach Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Riparian Restoration Team Coordinator to assist the Watershed Conservation Resource Center (WCRC) in achieving its mission of protecting, conserving, and restoring natural resources using a watershed approach. The Watershed Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for communication, community outreach, customer service, research, and content creation to support the organization’s mission and effectively engage stakeholders. This person will also be engaged with ecological restoration activities as well. This is a permanent, full-time, salaried position.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Outreach
  •  Coordinate with management and other staff to develop and implement outreach strategies and programs for various project and organizational needs.
  • Assist staff with creating and coordinating outreach events to meet grant or project commitments
    • Scheduling, advertising, and materials
    • Document event and track metrics
  • Develop newsletters, press releases, and other materials
  • Assist with the WCRC website content and updates
  • Develop social media plan, manage social media accounts, and track metrics.
  • Assist WCRC staff in developing and coordinating landowner contracts.
    • Assist the Executive Director with The River Commons including programing, trainings, and tours and other assignments as needed
  • Help to build the WCRC brand to strengthen its presence in the community and curate creative materials/content to connect to the public
  • Develop and plan fundraising events and efforts
  • Coordinate with WCRC staff to conduct native plant sales
  • Other duties as assigned
  •  Work with restoration project managers and engineers to assist with stream restoration construction activities as needed

 Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or a relevant natural science degree, watershed management, plant science, or a closely related field
  • The ability to perform rigorous physical activity while traversing uneven terrain with dense vegetation, including during times of extremely hot or cold weather
  • At least three years’ relevant work experience
  • The applicant must be able to operate a vehicle and have a valid driver’s license
  • Experience keeping detailed inventory records
  • Working knowledge of native plant communities, plant health, and plant care
  • Experience working outdoors
  • Ability to lift and walk with at least 50 pounds for an extended period
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Experience coordinating volunteers and outreach events
  • Interest and enthusiasm for conservation and ecological restoration
  • Completion of Rosgen Applied Fluvial Geomorphology is recommended but not required

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires working full days and sometimes outdoors with frequent exposure to hot and humid conditions, rugged terrain, swift-moving water, loud heavy machinery, ticks and other biting insects, and wildlife. Occasional evening and weekend work hours may be required.
