Chairperson of the Board

The Watershed Conservation Resource Center (WCRC) is pleased to welcome Sarah Elaine Lewis as the new Chairperson for the WCRC Board of Directors. Sarah’s passion for conservation and protection of our natural resources is a huge asset to the WCRC’s board of directors. The Director’s and staff of the WCRC are excited to have Sarah’s guidance and leadership as we work to conserve and restore natural resources throughout the region. Please see Sarah’s Bio below.

Sarah Elaine Lewis comes to us with a PhD in Environmental Dynamics from the University of Arkansas with a research focus and publications in stream ecology and economics. Sarah is a recognized leader in environmental advocacy, education, public service, and sustainable business. She was named Sierra Club Activist of the Year and she received the NASDAQ award for economic education. Sarah is a former City Council Member for Fayetteville, Arkansas where she championed and sponsored the LID and Streamside Protection Ordinances. With 14 years of experience in global supply chain, non-profit management, metrics development, and stakeholder engagement, Sarah brings a wealth of practical knowledge to her role on the board. She is currently Adjunct Faculty in Environmental Resiliency at the University of Arkansas, teaching leadership and metrics courses. She is the Founder and CEO of Edgewater Coaching & Consulting, a consultancy dedicated to empowering sustainability-minded professionals to achieve their goals, and she is the President of the Leverett Elementary Parent Teacher Organization. She looks forward to working with the Watershed Conservation Resource Center in her role as Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
