CPRG – Bentonville Razorback Greenway & Town Branch

In 2025 the Watershed Conservation Resource Center (WCRC) partnered with Metroplan and the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission (NWARPC) and the City of Bentonville to receive funding for restoration of the Razorback Greenway and Town Branch Corridor (Town Branch – Bentonville) through a Climate Pollution Reduction Grant administered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The document below highlights the progression of restoration activities that will take place over the next several years. This document was created as a guide for a variety of restoration activities, and some activities could eventually be conducted out of order or not at all depending on the need of the site.

The Town Branch – Bentonville project is located along Town Branch in Bentonville, Arkansas.  The Razorback Greenway runs through the project area. The WCRC will work with the City of Bentonville to restore 3,122 feet of Town Branch and 62 acres of forested riparian area.  The estimated combined carbon reduction and sequestration from this project is 2,221 metric tons during 2025-2050. The stream restoration will help to protect the trail infrastructure and will restore sections of severely eroding streambanks impacted through recent urbanization of the area.
