The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma has contracted with the Watershed ConservationResource Center (WCRC) on streambank restoration at the two bridge sites. The WCRC is collecting field assessments to include a visual survey, select channel cross-sections, a course longitudinal profile of the channel, and riffle particle size sampling. The purpose of this project is to design and implement two streambank restoration projects along Lost Creek. Each site includes approximately 750 feet of eroding streambank. The engineering and design will include both sites. Site 2 will require additional geomorphic assessment to evaluate suspected system instability indicated by excess point bar deposition and left bank erosion observed during a March 20, 2024 site visit. Construction and revegetation will include both sites.
